Colin Potts is the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Professor of Computer Science at the Missouri University of Science and Technology and is the President of the Reinvention Collaborative, a coalition of 85 United States research universities dedicated to the advancement of undergraduate education. Previously he was the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Professor of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech, where he led projects to redesign curricular and co-curricular learning environments. Since obtaining his PhD from Sheffield University in cognitive psychology, his research in software engineering and human-computer interaction has emphasized the human impacts of technology innovations and how the embedded values that designers often unconsciously bake into information technology drive the subsequent evolution of features.
