Dr. Edward J. Valeau

Dr. Valeau is Superintendent/President Emeritus of the Hartnell Community College District, located in Salinas, California. He has more than forty years of progressive, higher education academic, administrative, leadership experience, including Vice President of Academic Affairs. He is President Emeritus of California Colleges for International Education and now serves as the Vice President of Executive Innovation and Workforce Development at Star Scholars Network. Ed is the author and co-author of articles and books on administrative leadership, mentoring, and international education. The 2018 Co-edited publication, Handbook of Comparative Studies on Community Colleges and Global Counterparts, followed and today is used in colleges and universities nationally and internationally. His book, A Practical Guide to the Community College Presidency is due out Winter 2020 through Routledge Publications. 

 

Dr. Valeau is the recipient of the Buttimer Award for Outstanding Leadership as a CEO in California Community Colleges. He is an American Council on Education Fellow, Paul Harris Fellow, and a Fulbright Scholar to India and Nepal. He is currently writing a photo book entitled, Our Wonderful World of Work: A Lived Experience depicting people he photographed at their work in the countries he travelled.
